ANZ wanted to celebrate their love of small business with a playful, primarily staff-focused initiative – a beer by Prickly Moses that could be served at internal and client events at ANZ. It needed to celebrate ANZ staff and small-business in a playful, relevant way.
At the same time it did not need to align strictly to ANZ guidelines, instead it needed to present as if it was a retail drink option first within ANZ events with it’s secondary purpose being a nod to its banking roots.
We named the beer Pedal & Crank – rhyming slang for bank – aligning the beer back to ANZ in a playful way with a symbol developed from the architectural cues of the famous Collins Street gothic building where ANZ originated.
