Pedal & Crank

Zoe_Hodgens Folio_Images38.jpg

ANZ wanted to celebrate their love of small business with a playful, primarily staff-focused initiative – a beer by Prickly Moses that could be served at internal and client events at ANZ. It needed to celebrate ANZ staff and small-business in a playful, relevant way.

At the same time it did not need to align strictly to ANZ guidelines, instead it needed to present as if it was a retail drink option first within ANZ events with it’s secondary purpose being a nod to its banking roots.

Key Insight
Humour, approachability and heritage resonate with staff while linking to ANZ’s history and values.

Design Response
The name Pedal & Crank (Cockney slang for ‘bank’) was paired with design references to Gothic architecture of the original ANZ Collins Street building using the ANZ masterbrand colour palette.

Outcome
A witty, engaging, heritage-connected identity that reinforces staff pride and brand personality.

Agency
Dave Clark Design

Role
Concept development, brandmark, identity, finished art
