The Weekend Works

The Weekend Works is a collaborative creative platform between myself and Sarah Anderson, exploring still life projects outside of our full-time work.

This creativity is pursued almost exclusively on the weekends with one shoot prepared and completed within that time. We required a brand that reflects the limited availability and playful experimentation that can come out of that.

Key Insight
Creativity thrives in constrained time. Weekends are the space for experimentation and play.

Design Response
A calendar-based logo highlights Saturday and Sunday as ‘working’ days, while the copy style strikes out Monday to Friday, showing Saturday and Sunday as available days. Playful visuals extend this concept. Innovative techniques in photography, such as using sound instead of a camera shutter, reinforce the experimental ethos.

Outcome
The identity reflects experimentation, temporal focus and creative freedom, making the platform feel human, playful and innovative.
